The Story...

Dearest Little Baby Rowan,
Every birth experience comes with a great story. Here is yours: Wednesday night I was not feeling too good, but I had a big date with my girl friends planned for a baby shower at Chilis. I almost called and wanted to tell everyone to change the party to a pajama party at my house so I didn't have to get dressed up and go out. You see, the doctors had been telling me for the last 4-5 weeks that I needed to stay off my feet as much as possible, no cleaning and busy work...it was really frustrating, and I probably didn't follow docs orders as good as I should have, but I had been having a lot of false labor the whole week before, and at my last visit I was dilated to a 2 (2 days before you joined us!). I knew when I saw that I was starting to dilate that it wouldn't be long, even though I still had 5 weeks left before my due date. I think you wanted to follow in the footsteps of your big sister! So after my shower at Chilis, I laid in bed and turned on American Idol. Ryan couldn't sleep, and after my 5 refills of Diet Coke, I was wired. So we both took a Unisom to help us get some sleep. BAD IDEA!! By this time it was around midnight. Then the contractions started in, and they were every few minutes for an hour and a half. Finally around 1:30 I woke Ryan up and told him I think this was the real thing...not false labor. His response in a groggy tone I could hardly understand, "Are you sure? Cause I'm not sure I can drive right now!" My response, "Well you better be able to! I'm having a baby!!!" The Unisom didn't seem to effect me that night, in fact I didn't sleep one bit that night, but Ryan was having a hard time! So we called my dearest Aunty Tricia to come over at 1:30am and be here with our kids while we drove to the Hospital. When I got there I was dilated to a 4. Now, with your siblings, when I am at a 4 I am about to have a baby within the hour, but you wanted to take your time. At around 3 I got my epidural and tried to relax as I stopped progressing...4, 5, 6am...still at a 4. I wanted to die! I almost would have rather been having contractions then sitting there in the middle of the night not being able to move, with a sleeping drugged up husband next to me! But then finally around 7:30 they broke my water, and I progressed very fast from there. You were born at 9:30 Thursday morning. I cried. Partly from relief, but mostly to see you here in my arms for the first time. My perfect little baby girl, here at last! So small, 4 weeks 4 days early, and not one thing wrong. Just a perfect very small precious baby. Really, the most thrilling rush I've ever had in my life was each time I have given birth. It truly is such a miraculous and amazing thing! This was a hard pregnancy for me, and definitely the longest and the hardest birth, but it is crazy how instantly it all becomes worth every minute of pain and sacrifice when I held you in my arms. I love you so much already more then you will ever know!
Very first picture...what a shot! lol

Hospital Visits...

The first night baby Rowan was born my friends came by for a visit. I think the Nurse was swearing behind doors because we were so loud...but oh how I looked forward to having them come! Jess took these pics for me that night with her awesome camera, and I am so glad she did! She got some really good ones! So prepare yourself with a picture over load! Thanks Jess, I sure will treasure these! I just learned from her blog that this is baby 17 for our group of friends! Lets just say play dates are a little CR-A-ZY with a capital Z!!! Good thing we get to unload some of our kids next year to Kindergarten!

Never had a baby with hair. I made Jess get a good pic of her head of hair. OOOHH I LOVE IT! Paisley says all the time it's the softest hair in the world. I can't get enough of her.

Introducing...

Rowan Lorraine Hemming
5 lb. 9 oz. 19 inches
April 21st, 2011
She is itty-bitty, but the biggest thing in my life right now. More pics are coming soon, with the story of her arrival of course and a bunch more of my ramblings! We love her so much! So happy to have her in my arms and not in my belly! :)

Showers come just in time!

Here I am with my sweet sister, sister-in-laws, and mother-in-law at the Cheesecake Factory, one week before baby Rowan was born . What a fun night out! The food was of course delish and I got some pretty dang cute things for baby Rowan! Thanks to my wonderful family for all they do for me, I will love dressing her up with all my new things! You guys really are the best ever. Ever.
The night before Rowan was born, I went out with my girls to Chilis for a late night appetizer and DC overdose. They SPOILED me rotten! To die for clothes, little bracelets, massage cert. for post baby relief, and the essentials...DIAPERS...LOTS OF DIAPERS! I almost cancelled the night and told everyone to just come over in PJ's and hang out because I just was not feeling good, but I stuck it out and was so glad we went, it was such a fun night. I don't think anyone believed me when I said I was pretty sure the baby was coming...little did we know a few hours later I would be admitted to the hospital! :)
Ok, Hailey. Wow. I mean I am willing to bet no one has a cuter car seat cover then I will have. You are amazing. You could be rich from selling these if you wanted to! Love love love this!!

Jess...you need to wear bows more often, it suites you wonderfully!
I wish you could see the little pink bracelet better tied at the of the diaper cake. It is to die for!
I just want to tell my girls that I feel so lucky to have such wonderful friends surround me! I feel like I don't deserve you guys! I mean really, you are the best of the best and I don't know how I would live my day to day life with out you ladies! Thanks for spoiling me...I love you all!

EASTER TIME!!

I am excited to celebrate Easter with the kids and see the excitement in their eyes when you mention the Easter Bunny and what surprises he may bring, have talks about the Savior and why we celebrate Easter, and have SUNNY weathered Easter Egg hunts (hopefully!). Last night for FHE was the first celebration for the holiday. We talked about the Resurrection, colored Easter eggs, and ate bunny shaped sugar cookies. The kids loved it. It was a fun night.

Last week Paisley and Jaylynn just happened to be wearing matching outfits in different colors on the same day. They both looked so cute so I had to take a picture. I love how Jay's capris look like floods on her and Paisley looks like a giant next to her!
